Taste of Life catering is a new business owned and operated by two local women. Samantha and Darby are born and raised here on the peninsula and are graduates of Parkland Secondary School. Their interest in catering began in high school where they both excelled in the foods program.

Following graduation, Samantha moved to one of Canada’s premier resort destinations, Whistler, BC. Working in a fine dining restaurant further inspired her culinary interests and so she enrolled in the Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver. After graduation, Samantha became a personal chef aboard a private yacht where her talents for creating and offering a unique catering experience blossomed.

Darby on the other hand broadened her knowledge of food and wine while traveling. On her return she enrolled in the International Sommelier Guild at the Hotel Grand Pacific for further develop her skills in all aspects of service, menu creation and wine pairing. Darby sets the bar high and applies her skills and her attention to detail into managing a successful catering service.

Samantha and Darby decided to collaborate their experiences and joined Small Business Victoria where they regularly attended courses, "the Mentorship Program has been an amazing contribution to our business!" The women are also proud members of the Saanich Peninsula chamber of Commerce and they know through experience the value of networking in the community that they do business in. Specializing in dinner parties, intimate gatherings, community events and weddings, Taste of Life Catering strives to use local ingredients and wine whenever possible and they work closely with their Clients to create a lasting memorable experience.
